Terms of Service
YardRx iOS app. Last updated: 2026-05-18.
These terms are the agreement between you and THHUnlimted (the maker of YardRx) when you use the YardRx iOS app. By creating an account or continuing to use the app, you agree to them.
Who can use YardRx
You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account, or the minimum age in your country if it's higher. The app is intended for homeowners or renters managing their own lawn — it isn't designed for professional agronomists or commercial landscapers.
What YardRx does
YardRx analyzes photos you take of your lawn and gives you weekly guidance on what to do. The diagnosis is generated by AI and is meant as safe-triage guidance, not a professional recommendation. The app explicitly does not recommend specific chemicals, fertilizers, herbicides, or treatments — those decisions are yours and may be subject to local regulations.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. If you sign in with Apple, your Apple ID is what protects access to your account; you don't have a separate YardRx password. Tell us if you think someone has accessed your account without permission: support@yardrx.app.
Subscriptions
How they work
YardRx offers a free tier with a limited number of scans per month and a Premium subscription with unlimited scans, unlimited in-app chat with the lawn coach, and access to the full feature set. Subscription pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase. Payment goes through your Apple ID; we never see your payment method.
Free trial
If you're a new subscriber, YardRx may offer you an introductory free trial period when you start Premium. The length of the trial is shown in the app before you confirm. To use the trial you'll be asked to confirm your purchase with your Apple ID; Apple holds your payment method on file but will not charge you until the trial period ends. You can cancel any time before the trial ends in the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → YardRx, and you will not be charged. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your Premium subscription will begin and you'll be billed at the price shown when you signed up. A free trial is available only once per Apple ID; users who have previously subscribed are not eligible.
30-day satisfaction promise
If you are not satisfied with Premium during your first 30 days as a paying subscriber, email support@yardrx.app within those 30 days and tell us why. We will offer you one of the following, at your choice:
- Service credit. We will extend your Premium access by one additional billing period at no charge so you can continue using the app while you decide whether to keep your subscription. This is the option we can guarantee, because it does not depend on anyone else.
- Apple refund support. We will help you submit a refund request to Apple through Apple's Report a Problem page. Apple — not us — decides whether to grant a refund of your subscription payment. We can advocate for you, but we cannot issue an App Store refund directly because Apple processes all in-app purchases.
This promise applies once per Apple ID and only during your first 30 days as a paying subscriber. It does not carry forward to renewal periods, it is not available for accounts that have been suspended for violating these terms, and it does not apply to family-shared subscriptions used by a household member who is not the original subscriber. The 30-day window starts on the date your first paid Premium billing period begins (not the start of a free trial, if you had one).
The 30-day satisfaction promise is about your experience with the app — whether it's useful to you, whether the guidance is clear, whether the features work as expected. It is not a guarantee about the condition of your lawn. Lawn improvement depends on many things outside our control, including weather, soil, season, time invested, and decisions you make about treatment. YardRx provides guidance and tracking; it does not guarantee any particular outcome for your yard.
Renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal.
- To cancel, open the iPhone Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → YardRx → Cancel Subscription. We can't cancel a subscription on your behalf — that's a function of the App Store.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page.
- Deleting your account does not auto-cancel an active subscription. Cancel in Settings before deleting, or you may continue to be charged.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app in a way that violates any law in your jurisdiction (for example, spraying chemicals you're not licensed to use).
- Try to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
- Upload photos that aren't of your own lawn (or one you have permission to capture).
- Upload anything that contains other people's faces, license plates, or other identifying details visible in the frame — the app is designed for grass, not surveillance footage.
- Try to overload our systems or access them in any way other than through the official iOS app.
Your photos
You own the photos you upload. By uploading them, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and analyze them solely for the purpose of running the YardRx service for you. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not share them with anyone outside the third-party processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
When you delete a photo or your account, the license ends and we delete the photo from our servers.
The AI diagnosis
The diagnosis YardRx gives you is generated by an AI vision model. Some important notes:
- It can be wrong. The model may misidentify the issue, especially for unusual conditions, dormancy patterns, or photos taken in poor light.
- It's not professional advice. If your lawn has a serious or unusual problem, contact a local cooperative extension office or licensed lawn-care professional.
- It does not recommend chemicals. Any product, fertilizer, or herbicide decisions are yours.
- Local regulations may apply. Many jurisdictions have rules about water use, fertilizer timing, herbicide application, or pesticide licensing. We don't tell you what's legal in your area; that's your responsibility.
Service availability
We try to keep the app working well, but we don't guarantee it will be available at all times or be free of errors. We may need to take it down for maintenance, fix bugs, or change features. We'll try to give notice for planned maintenance when we can.
Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms — for example, by uploading content that's not yours or attempting to break the service. We'll usually give you a heads-up first unless the violation is serious.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. The diagnosis is provided for guidance only and we make no warranty about its accuracy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, THHUnlimted is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the app — including any decision you made based on a diagnosis the app gave you. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these kinds of limitations, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold THHUnlimted harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the app — including claims related to chemicals or treatments you applied based on the app's guidance, or content you uploaded that wasn't yours to upload.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll bump the "last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice in the app or send an email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court located in Fulton County, Georgia.
